National News: The flood crisis in Delhi has deepened after the continuous heavy rains. This is the first time since 1963 that the water level of Yamuna has crossed the 207 meter mark. The Irrigation and Flood Control Department has given this figure. Earlier, Yamuna had crossed the water level of 207 in 2010, 2013, 1978 and 2023.
Due to heavy rains and water being released from Hathinikund and Wazirabad barrage, low lying areas of Delhi have become completely submerged. In areas like Jharoda Kalan, Mayur Vihar and Yamuna Bazaar, the situation is such that water has entered the houses. Roads have turned into rivers. People are stranded at many places and are unable to get out even after trying hard.

The NDRF team has taken charge to evacuate people from flood-affected areas. Videos of NDRF's relief and rescue operations are coming out from different areas of the capital.

The Yamuna Bazaar area of Delhi is completely submerged. NDRF personnel are helping people to move to safer places. Water has also entered the relief camps set up in Yamuna Bazaar, after which the administration has started evacuating the relief camps.

The water level of Yamuna is increasing rapidly. Now the water of Yamuna has entered inside Nigam Bodh Ghat due to which people are facing a lot of difficulty in performing last rites. After heavy rains, Delhi's roads have become swimming pools. In Patparganj area, children and youth were seen swimming in the water filled on the road.
An official said that 1,70,728 cusecs of water has been released from Hathini Kund Barrage, 1,25,485 cusecs from Wazirabad Barrage and 1,65,145 cusecs from Okhla Barrage due to which the water level of Yamuna is continuously rising. Officials have warned that the next 24-48 hours are extremely important for Delhi-NCR, as the water level is likely to rise further.
